Deputy District Attorney – 7th Judicial District. Situated in the heart of the San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado, Ouray is known as the Switzerland of America. Its rich history dates back to 1876 when the city was incorporated on October 2, two months after Colorado became a state. Ouray is also the outdoor recreation capital of Colorado with more than 60 activities that can occur right out your door! We are seeking an experienced Deputy District Attorney responsible for prosecuting cases in Ouray County and the west end of Montrose County in Colorado. The 7^th Judicial District consists of six counties, including Montrose, Delta, Ouray, San Miguel, Gunnison, and Hinsdale Counties. Duties:

Duties involve prosecuting misdemeanors, traffic, and felonies, preparing dockets, warrant review, trials, hearings, motions, and pre-trial negotiations. This position provides the highest level of service to crime victims, and consults with defense counsel, law enforcement officers, and other judicial partners. Our office enjoys and supports a team environment.

Requirements:

• Must have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado or eligible to practice in Colorado based on UBE score.
• Must have a minimum of two [2] years’ experience prosecuting misdemeanor and traffic cases.

Salary: $84,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year DOQ plus benefits.
