Colorado has 22 judicial districts, each established by the General Assembly.  The 18th was established by voters in 1962. In 1964, the General Assembly included Arapahoe and Douglas counties. Elbert was officially added in 1965, and Lincoln in 1969.  The jurisdiction is the most populous in Colorado, with a geographic size larger than the state of Connecticut and almost 1 million people.

The District Attorney’s Office for the 18th Judicial District of Colorado serves Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln counties. The District is the largest and fastest-growing district in Colorado. The mission of the Office of the District Attorney is to seek justice. While we are tough on crime we are also dedicated to protecting the rights and interests of crime victims and preventing crime. The office serves as a driving force for many initiatives and preventative programs that work to reduce crime, protect victims, and enhance the lives of district residents.
