Community

Victims Rights Act
The Victim Rights Act (VRA) was passed into Colorado law in 1992 that guarantees certain rights for victims. It states that victims have the right to be heard, to be informed, and to be present during the critical stages of the criminal justice process. When the victim is deceased or incapacitated, these rights are extended to the victim’s spouse, parent, children, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, significant other, or lawful representative.
All victims who fall under the VRA are provided at Victim Advocate through the DA’s office.
