Mission of the Office of the Denver District Attorney:

The mission of the Denver DA’s Office is to protect the community, to seek equal justice for all, and to improve the quality and fairness of criminal justice on behalf of the people of Colorado.  We achieve that mission through excellence in our work investigating and prosecuting crime, supporting victims and their families, working with the community to prevent crime, and providing fair alternatives to incarceration in appropriate cases.

The Denver District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for the position of Deputy District Attorney, entry level up to 5 years of experience.

Deputy District Attorney

Our Deputy District Attorneys (“DDA”) perform a variety of legal duties on the behalf of  the Denver community and the people of the State of Colorado.  This includes appearing in County and District Courts handling all stages of prosecution.  A DDA effectively manages a caseload, prepares for hearings and trials, partners with community agencies, the Denver Police Department, and other criminal justice agencies to successfully serve survivors and build criminal cases, assists victims of crime and their families through the criminal justice system, and performs other duties as assigned or requested by the District Attorney.

Qualified applicants must possess a license to practice law in Colorado from the Colorado Supreme Court by the date of hire or a reasonable expectation of becoming licensed by the Colorado Supreme Court by the date of hire in accordance with C.R.C.P. 203.2, 203.3, 203.4 and 205.6. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
