Job Description
The 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office has an opening for its Deputy District Attorney position. Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado, or must be taking the February, 2024 bar exam and be available to practice under the supervision of the District Attorney until bar results. The position is a full- time entry level position assigned to County Court, prosecuting misdemeanor offenses, but can also encompass District Court prosecuting felony offenses, depending on experience. The starting pay for this position is $85,000-$95,000.00 plus benefits.
Specific responsibilities include reviewing discovery, making initial charging decisions, conferring with victims, collaborating with law enforcement and seeking additional investigative steps if necessary, appearing in court regularly, plea negotiations and interacting with defense attorneys, preparing various written pleadings, including responses to defense motions, and conducting trials. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to pursuing justice for crime victims and the community. Please send your resume to tammy.williams@southeastcolorado.net.
