Job Description

The 6th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is located in beautiful Southwest Colorado.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Deputy District Attorney III in Pagosa Springs, CO, with flexibility for some remote work. The role involves handling legal cases, conducting trials, negotiating plea deals, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies. The duties of a Deputy District Attorney III (DDA III) focus primarily on the prosecution of a County Court docket where offense include misdemeanors, misdemeanor traffic offenses, and petty offenses.

The DDA III handles all county court and DMV appeals to District Court. The DDA III can assist, where available, with felony cases and trial work.

Anticipated salary is $89,202 with benefits.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Colorado
  • Strong interest in criminal law, legal procedures, and courtroom protocols
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a significant caseload efficiently
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to justice
  • Interest in trial advocacy and legal research
